કર્મો પ્રત્યે મન્દ ઉત્સાહ
‘એની ઈચ્છા વીના પાંદડું પણ ફરકતું નથી’ એવું માનીને આપણે ઈશ્વરનું આધીપત્ય સ્વીકારી લઈએ છીએ. આપણે એવું પણ માની લઈએ છીએ કે આપણાં સુખદુ:ખ તો ‘એના’ ખેલ છે. કળીયુગ પ્રવર્તતો હોવાથી ભ્રષ્ટાચાર તો ચાલવાનો જ, જ્યારે સતયુગનો પ્રારમ્ભ થશે ત્યારે જ ભ્રષ્ટાચાર નાબુદ થશે. આવી આવી માન્યતાઓ પ્રજાને નીર્માલ્ય બનાવી દે છે. કેટલાક એવું માની બેસે છે કે આપણે ગમે તેટલો પુરુષાર્થ કરીએ પણ જો પ્રારબ્ધનો સાથ ન મળે તો સફળ થવાતું નથી. આવી માન્યતા ભ્રામક છે. પ્રારબ્ધના ભરોસે બેસી ન રહેવાય. કોઈ પણ કાર્ય જો યોગ્ય આયોજન કરીને હાથ ધરવામાં આવે તો વહેલું–મોડું તે સીદ્ધ થયા વગર ન રહે. પ્રજા દરીદ્ર રહે છે તેનું મુખ્ય કારણ જ આવી અન્ધશ્રદ્ધા છે.
જ્યોતીષની પરવા ન કરનાર અંગ્રજો તથા અન્ય લોકો સાહસ ખેડે છે, કર્મઠ બને છે અને બાહોશી દાખવી આળસુ તથા અન્ધશ્રદ્ધાળુ લોકો ઉપર રાજ કરે છે.
મંગળ ગ્રહ ભારતીય પ્રજાને જ નડે છે, અન્ય પ્રજાઓને તો એવા નડતરની ખબર સુધ્ધાં નથી. મુઢ પ્રજા ‘મંગળ’ના ત્રાસમાંથી મુક્ત ન થાય તો તેમાં જોશી લોકોનો શો દોષ ? બીલાડી આડી ઉતરે ત્યારે અશુભ થાય માટે ઘરે પાછા વળી જવું અને પછી ‘શુભ’ ચોઘડીયામાં કામ કરવા નીકળવું. આવી અન્ધશ્રદ્ધાથી પીડાતી આપણી પ્રજાને સુખી થવાનો અધીકાર નથી.
સામ્યવાદી પ્રજા મન્દીરો, મસ્જીદો, દેવળો નથી બાંધતી, પ્રાર્થનાઓ નથી કરતી અને તોય સુખપુર્વક જીવે છે. આપણે તો મંદીરો બાંધી બાંધીને ભ્રષ્ટ લોકોને પ્રોત્સાહીત કરીએ છીએ. મન્દીરોનો કારભાર કરનારા મહન્તો, શ્રેષ્ઠીઓ વગેરે મન્દીરના બહાના હેઠળ શાં શાં કાળાં–ધોળાં કરતા હોય છે તેની વાતો હજારો વાર અખબારોમાં છપાય છે.
તો પણ લોકો મન્દીરે જઈને એની મુર્તીઓમાં ભગવાન શોધે છે.

મન્દીરો–મુર્તીઓમાં ધર્મ નથી
આપણા દેશનું સૌથી વધુ અહીત કર્યું હોય તો તે કહેવાતા ધર્મગુરુઓ, રખડતા સાધુઓ તથા મંદીરોના વહીવટદારોએ. લોકોમાં તેઓ અન્ધશ્રદ્ધા ફેલાવે છે અને પ્રજાની આંખે પાટા બાંધે છે. “પ્રારબ્ધમાં હશે તો જ પામશો” એવું પ્રબોધી એ લોકો પ્રજાને આળસુ બનાવે છે. મન્દીરોની આજુબાજુ વેચાતી પુજાપાની સામગ્રીનો મોટો ઉદ્યોગ એ લોકોને લીધે જ ફુલ્યોફાલ્યો છે. ભંડારાના નામે ભ્રષ્ટાચાર કરતા કહેવાતા ધાર્મીક લોકો વેપારીઓ અને ઉદ્યોગપતીઓ પાસેથી મફત માલ પડાવે છે.
દક્ષીણ ભારત, ઉત્તર ભારત, પુર્વ ભારત કે પશ્વીમ ભારત–જ્યાં જ્યાં મોટાં પ્રખ્યાત મન્દીરો બન્ધાયેલાં છે ત્યાં ત્યાં અવારનવાર રામકથાઓ, ભાગવત–કથાઓ, ભંડારા થયા કરે છે અને હજારો–લાખો લોકો ત્યાં એકત્ર થઈ સમય અને ધન વેડફે છે. ભગવાનના ભરોસે જીવન–રથ હંકારનારા લાખો લોકો આળસુ બનીને પુજા–પાઠમાં રચ્યાપચ્યા રહે છે. અન્ય દેશોમાં લોકોને ધર્મનો આટલો વળગાડ નથી. ધર્મનો લોકો ખોટો અર્થ ધરાવે છે તેથી સમય, શક્તી અને ધનનો વેડફાટ થાય છે. નીતીમય જીવન જીવીએ અને પરીવાર, સમાજ તથા દેશ પ્રત્યેની ફરજો બજાવીએ તે જ ખરો ધર્મ છે. મન્દીરોમાં અને મુર્તીઓમાં ધર્મ નથી.

ભ્રષ્ટાચાર અને મંદિરો…..અંધશ્રદ્ધા અને પ્રારબ્ધ….કોઈ પ્રાસ બેસતો જ નથી લાગતો…
યુરોપ અને અમેરિકા જેવા વિકસિત દેશ તો ભારત કરતાં પણ વધુ અંધશ્રદ્ધાળુ છે…કેમ ભૂલી ગયા ” ૧૩ ” આ નંબર સૌથી વધુ અપશુકનિયાળ મનાય છે…ભારતમાં એવું નથી…
ભ્રષ્ટાચાર કરનાર મંદિર કે ધર્મમાં વિશ્વાસ રાખતો હોય જ નહી…જે ધર્મમાં અને ઈશ્વરમાં શ્રદ્ધા અને વિશ્વાસ રાખતો હોય એ ભ્રષ્ટાચાર કરે નહી…
ભગવાનની મરજી વિના સૂકું પાંદડું પણ હાલતું નથી…મોહનભાઈને વિનંતી કે પાંદડું હલાવી જુઓ એટલે ખબર પડે….
ભારતના લોકો નસીબના સહારે બેસી રહે છે….લેખકશ્રી આંખો અને કાન ખુલ્લા રાખીને દુનિયા જુવો ત્યારે ખબર પડે ને ભારત અને ભારતના લોકો પોતાના પુરુષાર્થ અને ભગવાનની કૃપાથી કેટલા વિકાસશીલ બન્યા છે….

શ્રી મોહનભાઈનું લખાણ મુદાસર- સ્પષ્ટ નથી પણ તેઓનો સૂર અંધશ્રધ્ધા અને પ્રારબ્ધવાદ ત્યજી કર્મ કરી જીવન ઉન્નત કરવાનો છે.
આપણા સંતોએ વારંવાર આ કહ્યું છે પણ કેટલાક તે વાતને પોતાને ફાવતી પલાયનવાદની વાતના સમર્થનમા કહે છે!”જગતની દુષ્ટતાની અને તેનાં પાપોની વાત નહીં કરો. હજી તમારે એ દુષ્ટતા જોવી પડે છે એથી ખેદ અનુભવો. હજી પણ સર્વત્ર તમારે પાપનું દર્શન કરવું પડે છે એથી આંસુ સારો; અને તમારે જો જગતને સહાય કરવી જ હોય તો તમે તેની નીંદા નહીં કરો, તેને વધુ કમજોર નહીં બનાવો. આખરે તો પાપ કે દુઃખ એટલે શું? એ બધું કમજોરીનું પરીણામ નહીં તો બીજું શું છે? ”
આવા ઉપદેશો જગતને દીનપ્રતીદીન વધુ ને વધુ કમજોર બનાવી રહ્યા છે. બાલ્યકાળથી જ એમનાં મસ્તકમાં નીશ્ચીત, દ્રઢ અને સહાયક વીચારોનો પ્રવેશ થવા દો. આવા વીચારો પ્રત્યે તમારી જાતને અભીમુખ કરો, જીવનને કમજોર અને નીષ્ક્રીય બનાવે એવા વીચારો પ્રત્યે નહીં. નીષ્ફળતાઓની ચીંતા કરશો નહીં; તેઓ તદ્દન સ્વાભાવીક છે, જીવનમાં સૌંદર્યરુપ છે. એમના વગરનું જીવન કેવું હોય? જો સંઘર્ષો ન હોય તો જીવનની પ્રાપ્તીનું પણ કશું જ મુલ્ય નથી. એમના વીના જીવનનું કાવ્ય પણ ક્યાં હોય? સંઘર્ષોની, ભુલોની પરવા કરશો નહીં. મેં કોઈ ગાયને જુઠું બોલતી કદાપી સાંભળી નથી, પણ એ તો ગાયની કોટી થઈ, માણસની નહીં. એટલે આ નાની નાની નીષ્ફળતાઓની, નાનાં નાનાં સ્ખલનોની, પરવા કરશો નહીં.
તમારા આદર્શને હજારવાર ઉંચો ધરી રાખો અને જો હજારવાર નીષ્ફળતા સાંપડે તો વધુ વખત પ્રયત્નો ચાલુ રાખો.

૧૩ના આંકડા જેવી હાસ્યાસ્પદ માન્યતા પશ્ચીમના દેશોમાં હશે, પણ અહીં વેલીંગ્ટન ન્યુઝીલેન્ડમાં તાજેતરમાં બનેલ એક પ્રસંગ પરથી ખ્યાલ આવશે કે હીન્દુઓની અંધશ્રદ્ધા જેવી આ પશ્ચીમના દેશો અંધશ્રદ્ધા ધરાવતા નથી. આથી જ એ લોકો આટલી વૈજ્ઞાનીક પ્રગતી કરી શક્યા છે, અને આપણે આજે પણ શીતળાના રોગમાં માતાની પુજા કરતા રહીએ છીએ. (અહીં વેલીંગ્ટનમાં પણ આપણા લોકોને એમ કરતાં મેં જોયાં છે.)
અહીં એક બીલ્ડરના વાડામાં ખોદકામ કરતાં સાંઈબાબાની મુર્તી નીકળી. ખાડો થોડો મોટો હોવાથી એમાં સારું એવું પાણી હતું. આ મુર્તીને પાટીયા પર રાખી એ ખાડામાં તરતી રાખવામાં આવી હતી. લોકોના મનમાં એવું ઠસાવવામાં આવ્યું કે આ મુર્તી સ્વયંભુ જમીનમાંથી નીકળી.
અહીંનાં આપણા લોકો એના દર્શન માટે ટોળે ટોળાં ઉમટી પડ્યાં. એટલું જ નહીં ૬૫૦ કીલોમીટર દુર ઑક્લેન્ડથી પણ લોકો આવવા માંડ્યાં. મુર્તી આગળ પૈસા પણ લોકોએ મુકવા માંડ્યા. અમુક ગ્રુપના લોકોએ એ મુર્તી તેમને સોંપવાની માગણી પણ કરી, પરંતુ માલીકે ના પાડી. હવે તેમણે જાતે જ સાધારણ મંદીર જેવું બનાવી મુર્તી ત્યાં મુકી છે. લોકો દર્શને આવે છે.
કોઈએ એ મુર્તી ખરેખર આપોઆપ જમીનમાંથી કેવી રીતે નીકળી તે જાણવાની દરકાર કરી નહીં. વળી એ બીલ્ડર ભારતીય, પણ પોતે તો ખ્રીસ્તી છે. એને ખબર હશે જ કે આજકાલ સાંઈબાબાનો પ્રચાર ભારે છે. એ મુર્તીની દશા જોતાં શક્યતા તો બનાવટની વધુ જણાય છે. લાંબા સમય સુધી જમીનમાં એ દટાઈ રહેલી હોય તેવું લાગતું નથી.
આજ સુધીમાં અહીં કોઈએ ઈસુ ખ્રીસ્તની મુર્તી આ રીતે કાઢી નથી.
ડૉ. મોહનભાઈના વીચારો જાણી આનંદ થયો. આ સુંદર વીચારોનો તથા ડૉ. મોહનભાઈનો પરીચય કરાવવા બદલ ગોવીંદભાઈનો હાર્દીક આભાર.

Dr. Mohanbhai Patel has rightly observed that real causes of Poverty, Slavery, Backwardness, etc. are due to BLIND FAITH (In GOD, Idol Worship) and Believing in Fate, Not KARMA-PURUSHARTHA as discribed in Bhagvad Geeta. People have been Taught Wrong by Traditional Gurus and Pundits who make their Living by Preaching. This goes on Everywhere, in East and West.
Human Beings when losing Faith in their Own Self, Surrender to Some one who they Believe is Everything. There is Nothing existing like that. Religion and Gurus and Leaders show `Escapism’ of Heaven and Moksha in some Future Life. They Don’t show How to get ahead in THIS Life. If one reads Auto-biography of those Self- Made Well-Known People, they will realize that Hard Work, Self-Confidence, Education, Discipline, etc. were the Reasons for their Success and Doing Good Service to the Community and the World.
I just look to myself, being born in a Rich Family made Poor by my Unlucky Father who did not know how to Get Ahead, being the Only Son with 6 Sisters. I started Studying Hard in Jain Schools FREE, helped by Caste Education Trust, acquired skills (Accounting, Typing, etc.) that get me a Job. I went to Bombay from Surat where Jobs were available. As soon as I had some money saved for College Fees, I started Morning College along with full-time Job. This was my Duty as the Eldest among 4 Brothers. I set an Example. This helped all my younger brothers who worked hard as well. Today, after 60 years, All Brothers, their Families, Children and Grand Children , we Live in America with decent life.
One has to Learn in Life and Make Way Ahead with Self-Confidence and taking Calculated Risk/Measured Steps. I am A Jain, but I Practised Real Religion, to Serve Self, Family, Caste, Community, Country (Freedom Struggle), etc. I was First in my Caste to come to U.S.A. To-day, there are Hundreds in U.S.A. Giving Advice and Guidance, etc. to many Parents. “Fare Te Chare, Bandhyo Bhukhe Mare”. I Don’t Go to Temple, Do Pooja, etc. as Idol Worship does Not Help. “Work is Worship” I Lead the Community to Build Schools, Hospitals,, Retirement Communities, etc. for advancement and Health of People. “Service of the Living People, Not Poojas of Marble-Made Idols in Expensive Temples, is Religion”.
I Advise People Not to be MISLED by Gurus, Pundits, Temple-Building Leaders and Others. Find your Way Out through Ingenuity and in Company of Progressive Successful Friends.

Bhagwad Geeta says, ‘Karmanye waadhika raste maa faleshu kadachanah’ meaning we do your work deligently with devotion and leave rest to God/Bhagwan/Allah or whatever.
Bible says ‘Work is worship’ meaning one should do work like worshiping with sincerity.
Holy Quran says ‘If your deeds are good you’ll get good fruits and if your deeds are bad you’ll get bad result.
In short every religion teaches without fail about the importance of the Karma. To me, frankly speaking, Madhu bhai seems to be confused. There is no consistency in his thoughts and expression. Madhu bahi, this is with all respect to you.
There are a few in this world (India included) who denies the existence of God. Well, it is their choice. I have seen a few cases here in Canada where people who used to call themselves ‘Humanists’ ahve turned to one or the other religion.
Religion is NOT bad. Yes, the extremism and other rituals in the name of a religion are. For the acts of a few we can not denounce any religion.

The purpose behind article is noble but it overepphasises atheism. Most NASA scientists strongly believe in God. The article clearly sends a message not to believe in any religion, religious beliefs.

ગ્રેટ આર્ટિકલ….ભ્રષ્ટાચાર એટલે લોકોને બેવકુફ બનાવવીને લૂટવા અને પોતાનું ઘર સાજુ કરવું.લૂટફાટ આજનું કલંક નથી પણ ઐતિહાસિક છે.અંધશ્રદ્ધા પણ ભષ્ટાચાર જ છે ને ? તો બીજુ શું છે ? ચોટીલાના ડુંગરા પર બેઠેકો બાવો રોજના લાખો રૂપિયાની રોકડી મારે છે.જ્યાંરે ચોટીલાનો પર્વત ઉતરતા નાના બાળકો ભિખ માંગતા નજરે આવે છે.વાહ વાહ ! છેને નજર સમક્ષ ? અહ્યાં યાત્રાધામમાં રસ છે એટલે યાત્રાધામમાં ધર્મશાળાઓ ઘણી જોવા મળશે.એક સારી સ્કુલ બતાવશો ?એક સારી હોસ્પિટલ બતાવશો ?હમણા બે-ત્રણ ધાર્મિક સ્થળોનો પ્રવાસ સ્વાનુભવ છે.(ચોટીલા માત્ર ઉદાહરણ). ધર્મના નામે બધે જ લૂટફાટ જ ચાલે છે.અને આ દેશમાં ધર્મ વિરુદ્ધ એક કડવુ સત્ય બોલી શકાતું નથી,પણ ધર્મના ધાબળા ઓઢીને અઢી વર્ષની માસુમ બાળકીને જીવતી કબાટમાં ભડથું કરી દેવામાં આવે છે.જે આ દેશની કરુણતા છે.જ્યાંરે જ્યાંરે કોઇએ ધર્મની ક્રુરતા ખુલ્લી કરવાની કોશિશ કરી છે ત્યાંરે ત્યાંરે તેને ઝેર આપવામાં આવ્યું છે.હવે કાગડા તો બધે કાળા જ હોવાના ! એટલે કે ઈસ્ટ હો યા વેસ્ટ ,અંધશ્રદ્ધાની આંધી બધે તે’જ .

નાની મોટી અંધશ્રદ્ધા તો બધેજ હોવાની.જ્યાં લોકો માનસિક રીતે કમજોર હોય ત્યાં બધેજ.આખા વિશ્વમાં એક યા બીજા રૂપે હોવાની જ.પણ આપણે ત્યાં એનું પ્રમાણ જરા પાગલપન કહેવાય તેટલી હદ સુધી વધેલું છે.એનું મૂળ કારણ આપણે વિચારતાજ નથી.કે ભાઈ આ ન્યુજીલેન્ડ જેવા દેશમાં સાઈબાબાની મૂર્તિ ક્યાંથી આવી?અને તે પણ જમીનમાંથી કઈ રીતે પ્રગટ થઇ?આપણે દેશ છોડી ગમેત્યા જઈએ,આપણી નબળી,કમજોર બીમાર માનસિકતા જોડે લઈને ફરીએ છીએ.એટલે હવે ન્યુજીલેન્ડમાં ધંધો ચાલી જવાનો.ટૂંક સમયમાં ભવ્ય મંદિર બની જવાનું.આપણાં ભવ્ય મંદિરોની સમૃદ્ધિ ગઝનીને ભારતમાં ખેચી લાવેલી.મારો ગ્રેટ ભગવાન,મારો મહાદેવ ગઝનીના મહેલના ત્રણ પગથીયે ચણાઈ ગયો.મારી માતાઓ,બહેનો ગઝનીના બાઝારમાં વેચાઈ ગઈ હતી.નિર્બળ કે બળ રામ???ના ભાઈ ના!!! રામ તો બલવાનનો જ હોય.નિર્બળ નો કદાપી ના હોય.આપણી બીમાર માનસિકતા એ સેકડો વર્ષ ગુલામ રહ્યા.
મોદીનો વાંચે ગુજરાત એજન્ડા બહુ સારો છે.હું કોઈ સેલીબ્રીટી નથી કે નથી કોઈ મોદી જેવો સત્તાધીશ પણ મારો એજન્ડા છે “વિચારે ગુજરાત” પછી બાકીનો દેશ વિચારે.

Thanks to Dr. Mohanbhai Patel for these thought process. I have been writing on same issues in the local monthly news paper ‘Tiranga in New Jersey’, (Samaj Darpan) with the hope that atleast 10% of the readers will find the message correct and worth following. I do not know how far my hope has materialised.
I am sure it is ZERO %. I have seen highly educated indian immigrants in the states blindly following so called religious beliefs. Only educated (Are Degree holders be considered educated ? ) live in blind beliefs. MONEY is the main motive behind these activities which generates POLITICS. These activities are BUSINESSES only. They are lucrative businesses and easy….(Gives money,fame, respect, LOVE…(?)….and what not…(.As I wrote earlier…ONE HAS TO BE A GOOD (CHEATING) SHEPHERED…you will have thousands of goats.and sheeps…followers).
We need volunteers to educate people. The volunteers who can resist the pressure created by politicians, sadhu, mahant, kathakar and their CHAMCHAS.( There was one organisation in Surat doing this type of enlightening activities) HINDUSTAN may be one of the world’s largest economy but it will never have people/citizen living healthy and independent life.

Thanks for the address of ‘Satya sodhak sanshtha’.
I am a freelance writer with science as my educational background (Ph.D in Chemistry) and write regularly every month since last nine years. I have not kept any of the writings. Mr. Nitin Gurjar, the publisher of Tiranga in New Jersey, (may help generating them from his computer) is a bold person who believes in not to promote Jyotish,Baba,Mahant,jadoo,Pandit Maharaj, Tantrik,Tantra-Mantra, Vashikaran, Meli vidya,Pret-Yoni, Bhoot,Dakan, Muslim baba….etc and for doing so he does not accept the advertisement…even the advertisers offer thousands of dollars. Why not other publishers follow his example ?
Few steps are suggested here to enlighten the common man. This process may take longer time but the result will be permenant.
(1).
The newspaper publishers should be requested to help the society by not accepting these advertisements. In India, TV stations are main media to promote this wrong so called DHARMIC (?) processes.
(2)
To educate the common man by teaching the logic of asking scientific questions to test the blind belief. Science only can prove, wheather the said puja-path or results of blind belief is right or wrong. In short make the common man verify the end results.
(3).
Brahmin community is the main media to promote these pujapath and kriya, karma-kand etc. This they do as earning their livlihood. About 75% of this community(Approx) are busy with this type of livelihood earning. Government should start giving them incentives and other ways of earning livelyhood and stop this business. Once stopped, it will help reduce pollution and improve individual economy. Also stop waste of food grains and other essential products.
(4).
This is a universal truth that ” every person who speak lie, knows before hand, what is right.” if this is not true, he or she can not design/ device the lie. These prists, Brahmins know it. Request their support and help to promote TRUTH.

SATYAGRAH. Challange those who mislead common man.
Ask who talk on Gita, a question. Why Krishna is not taking birth in this Kaliyug (?)as he has promised ? The answer should be logical and proof giving. Such activities will help.

Mohanbhai, keeping “ANDHSHRADHDHAA” in the mind sees EVERYTHING and even attacked the base of BHAKTI….If you believe in GOD..that is the base…for the NON-BELIEVER then you unknowingly or knowingly believe in PARAM TATVA.
Let us see beyond the Base !
Gita>>>> Karma is part & parcel of the HUMANS.
Gita did not say “be lazy & do not do anything” So those who say “God does everything” and do not do PRUSHARTH are on the WRONG PATH
So….ANDHSHRADHDHAA are born out of Misunderstandings..and taken advantage by SOME Spritual Leaders….

Read with great interest Mohanbhai’s article and also the reader’s comments-I too have struggled all my life to understand why the so called educated class of people see logic in promoting the religions based on ANDHSHRADHHA and knowingly helping the so called Dharam (Dhan)Gurus!In my case-I was born as Bohra and I have seen thro my life all the activities of our Syedna and his associates-They have been preying on people’s blind faith and accumulate large sums of money in the name oof different taxes from birth to death! they even collect the taxes fro the dead persons and the babies who have not been born yet!They even promise you to grant you admission to heaven if the dead carry a written note with their bodies if the greiving relatives pay them good sum!There is lot more to write -suffice to stay that to stay in business they bribe the current politicians in power(Mr Modi was given a fat check during his reelection)=hoping that there will be awakening some day!with all the best wishes–Yusuf
