કોણ ભગવાનને સારી રીતે સમજે છે ?
આસ્તીક લોકો મન્દીરમાં ભગવાનના દર્શને જાય છે. આમાંથી મોટા ભાગના લોકો ભગવાન પાસે સારી નોકરી, બઢતી, પોતાના કે પોતાના દીકરા–દીકરીનાં લગ્ન, ધન્ધા રોજગારમાં પ્રગતી, પરીક્ષામાં ઉંચા ટકાએ પાસ થવા અને સારી લાઈન અને સારી કૉલેજમાં પ્રવેશ વગેરેની માંગણી કરે છે. આ બધી આર્થીક સમૃદ્ધીઓની માંગણી છે. બીજી બાજુ ભગવાન તો ન્યાયકારી છે. કર્મનું ફળ યથાયોગ્ય આપે છે. સહેજ પણ વધારે કે ઓછું નહીં. અહીં પ્રશ્ન એ ઉપસ્થીત થાય છે કે, ભગવાન કર્મ કે પુરુષાર્થ કર્યા વગર ભક્તોની માંગણી પુરી કરે છે ખરા ? આનું સમાધાન મેળવવા માટે ભક્તોએ મન્દીર સાથે ધનીષ્ઠ સમ્બન્ધ ધરાવતી બે વ્યક્તી – પુજારી અને ભીખારીના વ્યવહારનું અવલોકન કરવું જોઈએ. તો જ ભક્તોને સાચી પરીસ્થીતી સમજાશે.
પુજારી ભગવાનની આરતી ઉતારી તેની થાળી, ભગવાન પાસે નહીં; પણ ભક્તો સામે–ભક્તો માટે મુકે છે. આવી જ રીતે ભીખારી ભગવાન પાસે નહીં; પણ ભક્તો પાસે માંગે છે. આ બન્ને સારી રીતે સમજે છે કે આપણા પુરુષાર્થનું ફળ ભગવાન પાસે નહીં; પણ ભક્તો પાસેથી પ્રાપ્ત થશે. ટુંકમાં, ભગવાન તો પ્રેરણા આપે છે, પુરુષાર્થ તો આપણે જ કરવાનો છે.

ધર્મ: શોષણનું એક નવું ક્ષેત્ર
આપણે સમાનતા અને સમાજવાદનો જયઘોષ અવારનવાર સાંભળીએ છીએ; પણ વ્યવહારમાં સમાજ બે વર્ગમાં વીભાજીત છે – એક અતીપૈસાદાર અને બીજો અતીગરીબ વર્ગ. ઝડપી ઔદ્યોગીકરણ, જમીનદારી તથા રાજકીય અને વહીવટી ભ્રષ્ટાચારને કારણે એક વર્ગ પાસે અબજોની સમ્પત્તી એકત્રીત થયેલી છે. જ્યારે બીજો વર્ગ તદ્દન ગરીબ છે, પુરતું બે સમય જમવાનું પણ મળતું નથી. ધનવાન – શોષક વર્ગ ધનમાં આળોટે છે અને ગરીબ – શોષીત વર્ગ ધુળમાં આળોટે છે. ગરીબ વર્ગ ધનીક વર્ગના દાબ–દબાણ અને પોતાની મજબુરીના કારણે શોષક વર્ગને પોતાનો સહયોગ આપે છે; પણ અંદરથી તેઓની ધનવાન પ્રત્યેની નફરત વધતી જાય છે, જે સામ્યવાદી અને નક્સલવાદી વીચારધારાને આમન્ત્રણ આપે છે.
આવું જ શોષણનું એક નવું ક્ષેત્ર ‘ધર્મ’ ધીમેધીમે વીકાસ પામી રહ્યું છે. પરમપુજ્યો અને ધર્મધુરન્ધરો એક બાજુ લોકોને સાદું જીવન જીવવાનો તથા જીવનામાં ત્યાગ અને અપરીગ્રહનો અમલ કરવાનો ઉપદેશ આપે છે; તો બીજી બાજુ પોતે સંસ્થા કે ટ્રસ્ટના નામે કરોડો નહીં; અબજોની સમ્પત્તી એકત્ર કરી પોતાના પરીવારના સભ્યો – પુત્ર/પુત્રી, ભત્રીજા/ભત્રીજી, જમાઈ વગેરેને પોતાના વારસદાર પ્રસ્થાપીત કરીને, ‘જાહેરટ્રસ્ટ’ને બુદ્ધીપુર્વક અને ચાલાકીથી ‘પરીવારટ્રસ્ટ’માં પરીવર્તીત કરી દે છે. આ ટ્રસ્ટનો વહીવટ પોતાના પરીવારના વારસદારો જ કરે છે અને તે દ્વારા તેઓ નીર્વીધ્ન ટ્રસ્ટની સમ્પત્તીનો ઉપભોગ પણ કરે છે.
ભક્તો પોતાનો ભવ અને પુનર્જન્મ સુધારવા ઈશ્વરના નામે, ધર્મના નામે, સમાજ ઉદ્ધારના નામે, ધર્માચાર્યોની વાતોથી અંજાઈ તેમને તન, મન, અને ધન અર્પણ કરે છે અને ધર્માચાર્યો આમાંથી થોડુંક જ સમાજસેવા માટે વાપરી બાકીનું બધું ટ્રસ્ટમાં જમા કરે છે. આને કારણે ભક્તો ગરીબ થતાં જાય છે અને ધર્મસ્થાનો– ધર્માચાર્યો પૈસાદાર થતાં જાય છે. જ્યારે ભક્તો જાણે છે, સમજે છે કે આ ધર્મની મીઠી–મીઠી વાતો પોતાની પુત્રેષણા, વીત્તેષણા અને લોકેષણા માટે જ કરવામાં આવતી હતી ત્યારે તેઓનો ધર્મ અને ઈશ્વર પ્રત્યેનો વીશ્વાસ ડગી જાય છે, અને તેમના હૃદયમાં નાસ્તીકતાની ધુન સવાર થાય છે જે ઉતારવી કઠીન બને છે.
ટુંકમાં, નાસ્તીકતાના પ્રચારમાં ધ.ધુ.ઓ અને પ.પુ.ઓની અતી પુત્રેષણા, શીષ્યોનાં ટોળેટોળાં એકઠાં કરવાની ભાવના, વીત્તેષણા, મઠ, આશ્રમ અને ટ્રસ્ટના નામે કરોડો નહીં; અબજોની સમ્પત્તી એકત્રીત કરી તેનો વહીવટ પોતાના પરીવારમાં જ રાખવો તેવી મલીન મનીષા અને લોકેષણા – ઈશ્વરના સ્થાને પોતાને પ્રસ્થાપીત કરી પોતાની ભગવાનના સ્થાને પુજા કરાવવી, આ જવાબદાર છે.

‘અભીવ્યક્તી’ 
ભાષા અને અભિવ્યક્તિ એ બે અલગ અલગ શબ્દો છે એવું બહુ ઓછા લોકો જાણે છે,
બધા પાસે આ બંને વસ્તુ ( ભાષા અને અભિવ્યક્તિ) એકી સાથે હોતી નથી, પણ તમે એ બધામાં નથી આવતા કેમેકે તમોએ બંનેનું સમન્વય કરેલું જણાય છે.
તમે ચર્ચેલો મુદ્દો આજ કાલનો નહિ પણ વર્ષો જુનો છે જેને તમે નવી રીતે ચર્ચેલો છે. ખુબ સરસ.
ધર્મ અને ગુરુ આ બંને શબ્દો જવાબદારી વાળા છે. હવેનો જમાનો જ્ઞાનના અભાવનો નહિ પણ જ્ઞાનની અજ્ઞાનતાનો છે. જ્યાં મુલ્યો અને સીધાન્તોનું વ્યાપારીકરણ થાય ત્યાં ધર્મ ગૂંગળાઈ જતું હોય છે. તમે કહેલી બધી વાતો સચોટ છે અને બધા એ જાણે છે ચાત આંખ આડા કાન કરી બેઠા છે.
માણસની નીતી જ તેની પાસે સારા કે ખરાબ કામ કરાવતી હોય છે. ધર્મ તો મુક્તિ અપાવનારું છે; બંધન નહિ.
તમે કહેલી ભક્ત અને ભિખારીની વાત એકદમ સાચી અને બધા એ અનુભવેલી છે.
“ધર્મ શોષણનું એક નવું ક્ષેત્ર” શીર્ષક ઉપર તો એક મોટી થીસીસ લખી શકાય (જે ખરેખર દુઃખની વાત છે)
ધર્મ ને ખરી રીતે સમજનારા તો દુનિયાને સંદેશ દઈ ગયા પણ એ સંદેશ ચોપડીના પાનાઓ માં ક્યાંક દબાઈ ગયું…. 😦

જ્યાં સુધી ભગવાનને પોતાની અંદર અને બીજા સર્વ જીવોની અંદર જોવાને બદલે મુર્તિઓમાં જોવામાં આવશે ત્યાં સુધી ધ.ધુ.પ.પુ.ઓ અને ધર્માચાર્યોનો કારોબાર ધમધોકાર ચાલતો રહેશે.

I agree totally with the view of shree N. DODIYA. Same naked truth is already projected by swami sachchidanandji of PETLAD in his book of in search of GURU , where in he perfectly writes not to surrender or appoint GURU who has thirst FOR KANCHAN & / or KAMINI which he smelled in all the places & in all persons (whome he met who were head of trust or mandir , ) during his tour in INDIA in his early days after leaving home .It is an eye opening naked truth exposed by the true SANT . Practically when you see it , it is a fact that selfish people collect for above said purpose to meet their selfish demands easily achievable by such drama, as they do not want or not fit to achieve by SATVIK KARMA OR PURUSHARTH..This is at present wide spread -endemic – in INDIA. Poor , iliterate, people are victimised on caste or religeon base by smart cunning leaders of religeon or politicts.Only solution to this to get organise same wavelength personalities & expose all such institutions which some times funded by government by favour of CUNNING POLITICIANS IN INDIA.for getting votes from same community for personal gains.It is not easy to eradicate such evils from the society by single person in present situation where in JUDICIARY , POLICE , POLITICiANS are not clean. SO it requires to get organised first & then act.in selfless manners . I will fully devoting myself for any such move by same wavelength leader in INDIA.

I agree with all the sentiments expressed so far about this excellent article and I congratulate Shri Dodiya and these friends but may I present a slightly different angle here for our thoughts? We rightly blame the exploiters, politicians, gurus, and everybody else (but ourselves) for collecting money. Yet who gives them money and power? Why do we allow them to exploit us? I think the giver is equally responsible. If I am stupid and don’t see through their shenanigans, it is my fault. Ask for a donation for a temple and billions flow. Ask for building a school and most people give reluctantly, if at all. Why so? The sheep follow the beaten track.

શ્રી નાથુભાઈના બીજા ચર્ચાપત્રના પહેલા ફકરામાં વર્ણિત અમીર અને ગરીબ વર્ગ વચ્ચેનો ભેદ ચાલુ રાખવામાં ધર્મ મહત્વનો ભાગ ભજવતો રહ્યો છે. ધર્મ શોષણ નવું ક્ષેત્ર નથી, એ પણ આખી શોષણ પ્રક્રિયાનું જ અંગ છે.

Agreed that it would be nice if preachers and writers followed what they say. However, we really do not know how much of their own advice they follow or practice. At least they are spreading a good thought, which some day may be put in practice by someone else.
On the other hand, what purpose is served by criticizing the writer for spreading a good thought?

એટલું જ નહીં, ધાર્મિક મા્ણસ સંપૂર્ણપણે ધર્મનું પાલન કરતો નથી હોતો. “દુનિયામાં આવું કરવું જ પડે” એમ કહેતો હોય છે. મોક્ષની થિયરી જાણતો માણસ ્ માયાનાં બમ્ધનોમાં ફસાયેલો રહે છે. બીજી બાજુ, આ લેખક જેવા વિચારોવાળી વ્યક્તિ પણ ઘણાં સામાજિક દબાણો સામે નમતું મૂકતી હોય તેમાં નવાઈ નથી. એટલે માત્ર જે વિચાર આપણી સામે હોય તેના વિશે ચર્ચા થઈ શકે. ચર્ચા કરનાર શું કરે છે તે જોવા જઈશું તો પણ ધાર્મિક માણસોની પોલ પાધરી થવાની શક્યતા વધારે રહેશે.

શ્રી નાથુભાઇના ગુજરાતમીત્રમાના ચર્ચાપત્રો હમેંશા ખુબ જ પસંદ આવે છે.
આટલુ બધુ જાણવા-વાંચવા-સાંભળવા-અનુભવવા છ્તાં પણ બાવા-બાવી ટીલા-ટપકા વાળા ભગવાધારી ધુતારાઓની જમાત મોટી ને મોટી થતી જાય છે.
સમાજને જરુર છે હજ્જારો શ્રી નાથુભાઇની !!!

Nathubhai is right about Hindus and their sages/seers spending huge sums on temples.We keep reading news about huge temples being planned or opened.Yesterday we have news that world’s largest temple is being planned in Patna – Bihar.Time has come for Hindus to stop this madness [probably borrowed from those mosque builders having Saudi petro dollars.
Our corrupt and incompetent governments are unable to provide basic services to their citzens.If they provide the services,they are very expensive.[By planning commison’s estimates, govt needs to spend Rs3.53 to render one rupee worth of service to the people, or the govt spends 83 paise out of every rupee on its own expenses].Those with money should take up community service projects rather than such huge temple projects.People who are donating gold to Ambaji temple should set up hospital near Ambaji temple for people to both pray and also get medical help.Why not reduce the size [ and cost] of temples and build schools/hospitals/training centers within such temple complexes?Why not spend money to help farmers build check dams or set up drip irrigation systems?
Since decades, we have Muraribapu performing Kathas.This is not to build temples but to help some local community with useful projects.At one place he has done this Katha to construct toilet blocks!
We have this spectacle of Padmanabh temple in Kerala ,having wealth of lakhs of crores of rupees.This was gifted to the temple when Hindus of Tamil Nadu and Kerala were ruled by Tipu Sultan and British.Hindus should have spent this money in mobilsing and arming people to defeat the enemies.They instead gifted the wealth to temple.Now they are quarreling to count it.

મોક્ષની થિયરી જાણતો માણસ ્ માયાનાં બમ્ધનોમાં ફસાયેલો રહે છે.

થીયરી અને પ્રેક્ટિકલ બે વિભાગ એટલે જ પોત પોતાનું આગવું મહત્વ ધરાવે છે.
લખવું અને આચરણ કરવું તે બાબતમાં ફેર છે. આમ તરાય તેવી થીયરી જાણનાર પણ ખરેખર કદી પાણીમાં ન પડ્યો હોય તેવો માણસ તરવા પડે તો ડુબી જાય. સિદ્ધ હસ્ત લેખક કોઈ પણ વિષય પર પોતાનું દોઢ ડહાપણ ડહોળી શકે છે પણ જ્યારે તેને તે વિષયે આચરણ બાબતે પુછવામાં આવે ત્યારે તે માથું ખંજવાળતા કહે કે હે? આવું બધું કરવું જોઈએ તેમ મેં કહેલુ?
એટલે તો શ્રી રામકૃષ્ણ પરમહંસ: કહે છે કે મન અને મુખ એક કરવા પડે. કરણી અને કથનીમાં ફેર હોય તો તે કથની કશું ઉકાળી ન શકે. ગોળ ખાવ અને ગોળ ન ખાવાની સલાહ આપો કે જેથી વધુ ગોળ ખાવા મળે તેના જેવું છે.
આડ વાત: મોક્ષની થીયરી પર અમલ કરવાથી માયાના બંધનોમાંથી છુટી શકાય માત્ર થીયરી જાણવાથી નહીં. મોક્ષની થીયરી તેમને જ લાગુ પડે છે કે જે માયાના બંધનોમાં બંધાયો છે. જે મુક્ત છે તેને થીયરીની ક્યાં કોઈ આવશ્યકતા છે?

અરે દિપકભાઈ અમે તો તમને કદી ફસાયેલા માન્યા જ નથી તમને મોક્ષ મળ્યો તે ય મને તો ભ્રમણા જ લાગે છે. મોક્ષ તો તેને મળે કે જે બંધનમાં હોય. તમારી જેવા સાવધાન માનુષ્યો તો બંધાય જ શાને ? 🙂

dealing in god and religion has indeed become a big business and its ingenius brahmin CEOs convert these business ventures into magic money-making machines with modern corporate management style. the unknown diety that was housed initially in just a 3-brick triangular or ‘U’ shaped structure gets transformed into multi-million conglomerate, grabbing vast expanse of government land free of charge, free connection of electricity and water and other infrastructure like road, bus/train terminus et al. they build adjacent to the temples scores of amenities to earn million-rupee rent or fees. both deities and their devotees become tenants or customers in their scheme of things.
make a temple, it’s a sure success business venture. you can very easily fool both the ignorant masses as well as the greedy rich and make them pay as per the size of their pockets, big or small, for it is believed that it is because of the blessings of the dev and the bhoodev the poor will be rich and the rich richer. loot and enjoy all the worldly pleasures of life at the cost of your dvotees : power, respect, money, sex and what not…

One interesting observation.
In last two postings, almost half of the comments were in English. This does not mean it is either good or bad. All it shows is that people have their own reason for the choice of the language they use. So, this issue need not be stressed, as was done in the past. Let us concentrate on the real issue discussed in the article posted.
