આપણો દેશ લોકશાહી રાજપદ્ધતી ધરાવતો વીશાળ દેશ છે, જ્યાં જુદાજુદા ધર્મો તેના સમ્પ્રદાયો અને અનેક જાતીઓ ધરાવતા લોકો વસે છે. મોટા ભાગના લોકો ગામડામાં વસે છે અને અભણ છે. ભણતર ન હોવાને કારણે તે વાંચી લખી શકતા નથી અને ભણેલા વાંચી લખી શકે છે; તેમ છતાં અમુક માન્યતાઓ મગજમાં ઘર કરી ગઈ હોવાથી તે છોડતા નથી. ધાર્મીક ખોટી માન્યતા અને શાસ્ત્રોના ખોટા અર્થો કરી લોકોને ઘીસરા(માછલાં પકડવાની એક પ્રકારની જાળ)ના માર્ગ બતાવનારા લેભાગુ ધર્મવાહકો, ખોટા જ્યોતીષીઓ, તાન્ત્રીકો, એ ભોળા લોકોનાં મગજ બગાડવાનો ધન્ધો કરે છે. દુ:ખ તો પાછું એનું છે કે આ બધા ધર્મવાહકો છે ભગવા અને સફેદ, કાળા, લીલા પહેરવેશ પહેરી રીતસર લોકોની આંખમાં ધુળ નાંખે છે. છતાં તેની સામે કાંઈ થઈ શકતું નથી; કારણ કે લોકશાહી સીદ્ધાન્તમાં દરેક લોકોને પોતાનો ધર્મ–સમ્પ્રદાય પાળવાનો અધીકાર મળ્યો છે. આવો અધીકાર સમજીને પળાય છે કે કેમ તે કોઈ જોતું નથી. પરીણામે લોકો માનસીક રીતે પીડા ભોગવી રહ્યા છે, આર્થીક રીતે પાયમાલ થઈ જાય છે; છતાં ભુતભુવા અને તાન્ત્રીકોની માયાજાળમાંથી છુટતા નથી. કોણ સત્યનો માર્ગ બતાવશે ?
આસ્તીક અને નાસ્તીક વીચારસરણી ધરાવતા વીશાળ ભારતમાં આસ્તીકો વધુ છે જે આવી ધાર્મીક બાબતોમાં શ્રદ્ધા રાખે છે. શ્રદ્ધા રાખવું એ જરાય ખોટું નથી; પણ શ્રદ્ધા હદવળોટી જઈ ક્યારે અન્ધશ્રદ્ધામાં પલટાઈ જાય છે એની લોકોને ખબર પણ પડતી નથી !
વીજ્ઞાન પહેલાં વીકસ્યુ નહોતું ત્યારે રુઢીઓ, માન્યતાઓ, ન સમજાય ત્યારે પશુબલીઓ, માનવબલીઓ ચડાવી વીધીઓ થતી; પરન્તુ અત્યારે જ્ઞાન સાથે વીજ્ઞાને પણ વીકાસ કર્યો છે અને લોકોને સાચી જાણકારી મળી રહે છે; છતાં આવી ખોટી માન્યતાઓમાં સબડ્યા કરવાનું ? ધર્મને નામે સાધુ આજે પણ તાન્ત્રીક બની માનવબલી ચડાવી યજ્ઞ કરે, ક્યાં જાય છે ધર્મ ? આવો ધર્મ ? કુમળાં બાળકોને બલી બનાવાય ? કોણ આવા લેભાગુ ધર્મવાહકને રોકશે ? લોકોની ફરજ ખરી; પરંતુ ધર્મને નામે આ બધું થાય છે એટલે લોકો સમજે છે છતાં બોલતા નથી. ધર્મ પાળવાનો અધીકાર મળ્યો છે ને ! આવો ધર્મ પાળવાનો ? આવી વાતો સમજાવનારા થોડાક સમજુ લોકોને પાછા બધા નાસ્તીકને નામે ધુત્કારે છે; પણ આજ લોકો સત્યની નજીક છે. ખોટાને રોકે છે તે, ઈશ્વરને કે ધર્મને માને કે ન માને; પરંતુ તે સાચો રાષ્ટ્રધર્મ બજાવે છે આપણે તેનું માનીએ છીએ ? લોકોનું માનસ બગાડવું એ પણ અપરાધ–ગુનો છે. શું કરવા સરકાર આવાં તત્ત્વોને જબ્બે નથી કરતી ? ત્યાં મતનું રાજકારણ નડે છે ? રાજસત્તા એવું માને છે પ્રજા ભલે આવી માન્યતાઓ અને અન્ધશ્રદ્ધામાં અટવાયા કરે, આપણી રાજકીય પ્રવૃત્તીમાં એટલું ઓછું માથું મારશે, આવું જ રાજસત્તા સમજે છે ને ? ક્યાં સુધી આવા ધતીંગો સરકાર ચાલવા દેશે ? કોઈને મારી નાખવાથી ગુનો બને છે તેને ૩૦૨ કલમ લગાડી ફાંસી સુધીની સજા થઈ શકે છે; પણ જીવતો માણસ મરેલો થઈ ફરે તેવો કરી નાખનાર તાન્ત્રીકોને કોઈ કલમ જ ન લાગે ? ગુનો એ ગુનો જ છે. શું કરવા કાયદાનો ઉપયોગ પ્રજાકલ્યાણના શુભહેતુમાં થતો નથી ? ધર્મ ખોટું ચલાવવાનું કહે છે ? ધર્મમાં ધતીંગ હોઈ શકે ? માંદળીયાં, દોરાધાગા, મન્ત્રતન્ત્ર, ડાકલાં, વીધીયજ્ઞો, વાસ્તુશાસ્ત્ર, જ્યોતીષના નામે માણસના મગજ મારી નાખવામાં આવે છે. કેમ આ બધું સમજાતું નથી ? શું આપણું મગજ બહેર મારી ગયું છે ?
કોઈ લેભાગુ એમ કહે તમારો બંગલો વાસ્તુશાસ્ત્ર પ્રમાણે નથી બન્યો, તો શું પૃથ્વી વાસ્તુશાસ્ત્ર પ્રમાણે બની છે ? જમીન પર પહેલાં ઝુપડું પણ નહોતું. ઝાડ ઉપર માણસ જંગલી દશામાં જીવતા હતા. પછી પૃથ્વી પર ઝુંપડું બન્યું હશે ત્યારે વાસ્તુશાસ્ત્ર નહોતું અને બંગલા બનવા માંડ્યા એટલે વાસ્તુશાસ્ત્ર આવ્યું અને નડતર ચાલુ થઈ ? રુપીયા આવ્યા અને બંગલો બન્યો તો શું રુપીયા નડતરરુપ છે ? રુપીયાના જોરે આવા ધતીંગ કરવાના અને એ પાછા ધર્મને નામે ? કેમ નાસ્તીકોને કે સમજણા માણસને વાસ્તુશાસ્ત્ર નડતું નથી ? કારણ કે તેનામાં સાચી સમજ છે, વાસ્તુ, વાસ્તુશાસ્ત્ર જેવું દુનીયામાં કંઈ નથી. આ બધું માણસોને હેરાન કરવા માટે, અમુકને રુપીયા કમાવા માટે વાસ્તુશાસ્ત્રને સાધન બનાવી દીધું છે અને તેના નામે લુંટ ચલાવાય છે. વાસ્તુશાસ્ત્રને નામે માણસના મગજમાં વહેમ પેદા કરવામાં આવે છે. પછી રસોડા અને બારણાંની દીશા બદલાવ્યા કરવાની. સમ્પત્તીવાન અને સત્તાધારીઓ આમાં વધુ માને છે. વાજપેયી વડાપ્રધાન બન્યા પછી સરકારી આવાસને વાસ્તુશાસ્ત્ર પ્રમાણે કરાવે તેને શું કહેવું ? સત્તાધારીઓ અને પૈસાદારોને આવા નડતર પોસાય, સામાન્ય માણસે આનાથી દુર રહેવા જેવું છે. આપણે કયાં સત્તા કે રુપીયા જળવાઈ રહે તે માટે વીધી કરાવવાની હોય !
આ તે કેવી માન્યતા, કર્ણાટક રાજયના શીમોગા જીલ્લાના ચંદ્રગુટ્ટી ગામડામાં અત્યારે પણ હજારો સ્ત્રી-પુરુષો, બાળકો દીગમ્બર(વસ્ત્રહીન) થઈને દેવીની પુજા કરે છે શું આને ધર્મ કહેવાય ? આ દેવીનું મન્દીર આઠમી સદીમાં બનેલું, પ્રથમ જૈન મન્દીર હતું, મન્દીરમાં રેણુકાદેવીની મુર્તી જે ગૃહમ્બા, શીવેશ્વરી, જ્વાલામાલીની એવાં જુદાં જુદાં નામે ઓળખાય છે. દર ફાગણ સુદ નોમે આ ઉત્સવ ઉજવાય છે. ત્રણ દીવસ આ ઉત્સવ ચાલે છે. છેલ્લા દીવસે માતાજીની પુજા કરવામાં આવે છે. આ પુજા હજારો સ્ત્રી–પુરુષો નગ્ન દેહે કરે છે. તેમાં સ્ત્રી વધુ હોય છે. પોતે લીધેલી માનતા આ રીતે પુરી થાય છે. શું કહેવું આવી માનતાને ? નગ્નતા ઉપર સરકારનો પ્રતીબંધ છે; છતાં લોકો માનતા નથી ! અરે દુર દુરથી લોકો આવી નગ્નતા જોવા આવે છે ! જેણે આ માન્યતા ઘાલી દીધી હશે તે તો ગયો; પણ આજદીન સુધી આ પરમ્પરા જતી નથી. વીસમી સદી ભલે ગઈ; આપણે ત્યાંના ત્યાં જ છીએ. આ બધું ધર્મને નામે થતું હોય પછી શું કહેવું ?
લોકો વીધી અને માનતા–માન્યતાને નામે કેવા ખરડાય છે તેનો નમુનો સુરતમાં તાજો જ બન્યો હતો. સુરતમાં મુળ સૌરાષ્ટ્રના મધુભાઈ કાકડીયા રહે છે. એમની સત્ય માટેની શોધ અને તે બાબતની સમજણ ઘણી ઉંચી છે. મધુભાઈ, સુરતની ‘સત્યશોધક સભા’ના વર્ષોથી સહમંત્રી છે; પરંતુ તેમને આસ્તીક માણસો ‘નાસ્તીક’ કહે છે ! જેની સમજણ ઉંચી હોય તેને ‘નાસ્તીક’ નામને બહાને અણસમજુ કહેવાના ? મધુભાઈને વરાછા રોડ પર રહેતા બાલુભાઈએ વાત કરી : સુરતની દીલ્હી ગેટ પાસે બેલ્જીયમ ચેમ્બરમાં જ્યોતીષને નામે ઓફીસ ધરાવતા ‘ગુઢ મસ્તાનજી’ અને તેના મળતીયાઓએ જુદી જુદી વીધીઓને નામે અત્યાર સુધીમાં પાંત્રીસ લાખ રુપીયા મારી પાસેથી પડાવી લીધા છે. બાલુભાઈ ડરના માર્યા છેતરાતા જ રહ્યા. પોતાના કુટુમ્બમાં સુખશાંતી રહે માટે વીધીના નામે બધું કરતા રહ્યા. છેવટે બાલુભાઈએ મધુભાઈને આ બધી વાત કરી. માધુભાઈ અકળાઈ ઉઠ્યા, આવા ધતીંગ ?
મધુભાઈએ બાલુભાઈ તથા તેના સગાસમ્બન્ધીઓની સાથે મસ્તાનને સીધો કરવાનું બીડું ઝડપ્યું. કઈ રીતે મસ્તાને પૈસા પડાવ્યા તે પણ જાણવા જેવું છે. નડતર દુર કરવાની સૌ પ્રથમ વીધી માટે ૩,૧૦૦ રુપીયા એડવાન્સ, ત્રણ ભેંસની બલી ચડાવવા માટે છાંસેઠ હજાર, પાંચ દીવસ પછી હાથીની બલી માટે બે લાખ સાંઈઠ હજાર, દસ દીવસ પછી ચાર હરણની બલી માટે દસ લાખ ! ‘હરણની વીધી નકામી ગઈ’ એવું કહી ફરી દસ દીવસ પછી પાછા દસ લાખ, પાછી વીધી ફેઈલ ગઈ. કારણ કે મસ્તાન એમ કહે કે નડતર ખુબ મોટી છે એટલે વીધી જરુરી છે. ફરી પાછાં બે હરણની વીધી માટે પાંચ લાખ. આમ જુદાં જુદાં પ્રાણીઓની બલી માટેની રકમ વધતી જ ગઈ. કુલ્લે પાંત્રીસ લાખ બાલુભાઈએ આપ્યાં છતાં; વીધી પુરી ન થઈ અને સુખશાંતી આવી નહીં. આર્થીક પાયમાલીને કારણે દુ:ખ વધી ગયું ! આ બધી વીગતની લેખીત ફરીયાદ મધુભાઈને તેમણે આપી. પછી સાચી વીધી મધુભાઈએ કરી ‘ગુઢ મસ્તાનજી’ અને તેના ચેલકાઓની. એની જ ઓફીસમાં જઈ બરાબરના ધોઈ નાખ્યા. એમાં લોકોએ પણ હાથ સાફ કરી લીધા. મસ્તાન પાસે તેની ભુલ કબુલ કરાવી. મસ્તાન તો ભાગી ગયો, ચેલકા પકડાયા, કોર્ટમાં કેસ થયો એ બધું ખરું; પણ બાલુભાઈના પૈસાનું શું ?
પ્રશ્ન એ થાય મધુભાઈએ આ રીતે કાયદો હાથમાં લેવો જોઈએ કે નહી? આવું ન થાય તો શું કાયદો બાલુભાઈને તાન્ત્રીકની ચુંગાલમાંથી છોડાવી શકત ? પોલીસ પાસે ફરીયાદ થઈ હોત તો, તાન્ત્રીકે પાંત્રીસમાંથી થોડાક ખરચી નાખ્યા હોત અને આ વળી પાછી ધર્મની બાબત હતી; એટલે રાજસત્તા મુંગી બની જાત ! કોઈને કાયદો હાથમાં લેવો પસંદ નથી; પરંતુ સરકાર સત્યને સમજી શકશે ? લોકો તો ભોળા હોય છે, સાચી સમજ મધુભાઈ જેવા સત્યના જાણકાર જ આપી શકશે. અન્ધશ્રદ્ધામાં સબડતા લોકોને આવા જ્યોતીષીઓ, તાન્ત્રીકોની માયાજાળમાંથી ઉગારવા સરકારે લાલ આંખ કરવા જેવી છે. વીધાનસભામાં કાલાજાદુનો કાયદો પસાર થયો હોત તો આવા ગોરખધન્ધા ઉપર બ્રેક લાગત; પણ સરકારની કોઈ સરકાર છે ? ધર્મ મુંગો બની જાય છે.

All the questions asked in the text are valid questions, including one asked in the title of the article. Where is the answer ? Who will extend hand to Madhubhai ? is my question.
My impression is that many of the judges also believe in dori-dhaga, Vastushashtra, Satyanarayan katha, etc.And Mandir,Masjid,Babas,Fakirs,Pandits,Pujaries,and……so on.
In case of the example quoted in the text of Balubhai and Gudh Mastanji, my opinion is to punish Balubhai first. He himself has initiated the visits. He could have controlled his family members. This is like a person jumps into a well and than asking for the help. Gudh Mastanji should have been removed from the society is the right step.
There is a saying, ” Vagar vichare je kare te aagarthi pastaye, paatcharthi pastaye, upparthi pastaye,nichethi pastaye.” I do not have any pity for Balubhai.
He was lucky that Madhubhai agreed to help him.

Really speaking; with advance of science and comunication; such fraudi bawas have expanded their business all around the world. There are more than 10 gurus-bawas and shashtrijis and at least 5 Vaastushashtra experts feed several Indian news papers and T.V. Channels in the USA giving false promises for their tantars success and many educated Indian gladly belived them. Even Vaastushashtra lady and tantric run their T.V. shows too. I tried to write letters against their faruds, but not a single news paper has published it. It is not the fault of such dhongi bawas; but it is fault of our culture and weak minds. Bhai jaya Lobhiya hoi taya Dhutara bhookhe kem rahe?

You are very right when you say that “it is the fault of our culture.”
A few people can be weak minded or even silly, but such incidents keep happening every day everywhere in India. That is not just individuals, it is the system that inspires, encourages and tolerates such irrational actions based on superstition and what not.
ALL thinking people must think about the deep roots of this kind of culture.

ધર્મ ના નામે ધતીંગ પુરા જગત માં તથા દરેક ધર્મ માં ચાલી રહ્યું છે. તેને રોકવા માટે કદાચ સંયુક્ત રષ્ટ્રો હવે પગલા લે તો કદાચ તેના સભ્ય દેશો ની ઉંઘ ઉડે અને તેઓ કંઈ પગલા લે. નહિંતો: “લોભિયા હોય ત્યાં ધુતારા ભુખે ન મરે” તથા “ઝુકતી હે દુનિયા ઝુકાને વાલા ચાહિયે” – ચાલતું જ રહેશે અને રેશનાલીસ્ટો જોતા જ રહી જશે.

બાબા ,તાંત્રિકો , ગુપ્ત રોગો અને હઠીલા રોગો ના ઊંટવૈદો ની ઝાળ આખા દેશ માં ફેલાઈ છે
આ ધતીંગો ના નામે છેતરપીંડી દ્વારા થતો ધીકતો ધંધો વધતો જ જાય છે. આ ધંધા માં બોલવાની છટા
અને લોકો નું માઉથ માર્કેટિંગ કામ લાગે છે. પ્રજા અભણ અને ગરીબ હોવાથી તેવો વિશેષ લાભ લે છે.
નવાઈ ની વાત તો એ છે કે સાધન સંમ્પન લોકો પણ આવા ઠગ ભગતો ની ચાલ માં આવી જાય છે.
આ ધંધા નું મૂળ કારણ તો ધર્મ ની સાથોસાથ અંધશ્રાધા નું પણ કારણ છે.
અજમેર દરગાહ માં ચાદર ચઢાવવા નેતા અને અભિનેતા જતા હોય પછી બીજા લોકો તેનું અનુકરણ
કરવા ના જ છે. કોઈ પણ ધર્મ સ્થાન માં આવી અંધશ્રાધા ના નામે થતી પ્રવૃત્તિ બંધ કરાવવી જોઈએ.
બાબા અને તાંત્રિકો મૂળ તો ધરમ પર વધારે પ્રમાણ માં આસ્થા અને પછી આંધળી દોટ જ જવાબદાર છે.
આજે પણ લોકો હાડવૈદ પાસે હાડકાના રોગો માટે જાય છે. બાબા અને તાંત્રિકો દ્વારા થતી વિધિ ને લોકો ધાર્મિક વિધિ
માની લઇ વિશ્વાસ રાખે છે. પણ આ બધું લુંટ જ છે. આને રોકવી જ જોઈએ. કાયદા થી આ લોકો નહિ બંધ થાય.
લોકો એ જાગૃતિ અને દંડાવાળી કરવી જ પડશે.

35 લાખ પાસે હતા તો પછી તાંત્રિક પાસે જવાની જરૂર જ શું હતી? લોભ, લોભ, લોભ. જે વ્યક્તિ વારંવાર ઠોકર ખાવા છત્તાં ના સમજે તેની દયા શું ખાવી! ‘સત્ય શોધકો’એ પણ કાયદો હાથમાં ન લેવો જોઇએ. આપનારા હશે તો ગણપતિ અને પોઠીયા દુધ પીધા જ કરવાના!

I hope that Balubhai learnt his lesson after loosing 35 lacs of rupees. He must start helping Madhbhai in educating others who are on the looser’s list. LAATO KE BHOOT BAATOSE NAHI MAANTE. Only fools learn after loosing. If, you pity the fools, they make you fool.
In my suggestion, let me say that if government take-up this subject, no body can resist. The govt. officers have to be honest. Cinema Houses are the best media because maximum number of people are addicted to the films. There should be a representation from the awakened and influential citizens for this educating activities through cinema houses, to the Government.

Who will educate?
The government? Who are we kidding? The government would never take up this issue. They would only support it. Either because they themselves believe it or because they will get a ‘cut’ from those con artists. Or because they are afraid to hurt someone’s religious sensibilities. After all, if you show that the con-artist claiming to double your money with the help of “maa xyz”, aren’t you in essence questioning the miracle-making ability of maa-xyz? No government will dare do it.
WIll media do it? No way! They are raking in money from all the advertising by these con-artists at every level. From small black-&-white text-olny ads in local newspapers to big color adverts in TV that cost many lakhs. Further, they again have many reporters who believe this garbage. In fact, half the articles are simply disguised ads. The way it works is – the sales person goes to harami baba number 2 and says, “baba number 1 advertises in our channel, why don’t you?” and Baba number 2 says “ok but write up a good article about me”. So the sales person gets a reporter to write up a glowing article about whatever tantrik garbage the babas are selling, plus a positive mention of their names. So most of the media is certainly not going to give up their lucrative business. Yes, you may find somewhere a non-profit education-oriented medium who may try – but it would be too small and inconsequetial.
Will the religious leaders do it? Obviously not! For one, most of them also believe the things. For two, they want to make money out of it. And even if they don’t, it is a slipperly slope for them. If the people get into the habit of questioning the tantriks, who knows where that questioning attitude will go next? Maybe they will start questioning other outrageous claims made by the religious leaders also! Soon, they will be questioning the religion itself! That will not do! (for the religious leaders).
So no government, no media, no religious leaders. That leaves scientists and educationalists. Facts show that these two groups are least likely to be conned via such tricks. Yes, many among them are also believers, but proportionally, far fewer than in other groups. So it falls upon these two groups to continuously spread the message of rationalism. In that, if we can get a sponsor from Industry (like Vikram Sarabhai in today’s world), that would help in a big way. But most importantly, we must buy media support or ownership. Then only these “dhating” can be removed. and that can come only from industry.
If a group of scientists or rationalists can go convince Ambani or Tata to support this initiative, to invest in a TV show, to invest in producing articles, demonstrations, u-tubes, etc., then true jan-jagruti can be achieved.
A second “must-have” is to educate children against such garbage from a very young age. Teach critical thinking in schools. Teach kids to think rationally and recognize con artists. This will require a major reform of the education system, which is fairly unlikely. However, one or two private schools can start by offering courses on this. Once their students shine out by being successful, more and more schools will follow.
Even my ideas are fairly long-shot wishful thinking. But i humbly put them forward as a possible first step.

The problem is, if you are in any type of business where you need to deal with the masses, rationalist type of activity is going to hurt your business to some extent. Nobody would like that.
One case in point. Jawaharlal Nehru was hardcore rationalist. However he would not preach that to public because that would come in a way of his bigger goal. Tatas or Ambanis would not do that either beyond a certain point. I know some people who support rationalist activities financially. At the same time they would also donate money to religious activities. Their intent seems more of public relations than any ideology.

Good thoughts. I agree entirely with both.
My conclusion from the comments of both (Shri A. Dave and Shri Gada as above) and from the input of some other friends here, is this:
A very big majority of the Indian population is IRRATIONAL.
Most successful leaders, businessmen and rare politicians like J. Nehru know it. But they cannot tell like it is for obvious reasons.
Would you agree? If you agree, we can proceed to investigate why this is so.
